About Impact

Sean Bickerton

I believe all organizations are comprised of one thing and one thing only — relationships. And that is where I begin all of my work, building relationship and creating space where deeper conversations and connection can take place.

The reason I started Impact Strategic Planning was to help non-profits understand their place in a rapidly changing world, address challenges, and forge a shared vision for a more vibrant future.

I have been involved in developing comprehensive Strategic Planning processes for arts organizations for more than a decade. Recent clients include Unwrap Theatre in Kitchener-Waterloo, ON; The Works Art & Design Festival in Edmonton, AB; Vancouver Pro Musica in Vancouver, BC, and as a mentoring client through Business for the Arts, the Kawartha Gallery in Lindsay, ON.

I have also been involved in developing transformative strategic plans for the Canadian Music Centre, Vancouver Recital Society, the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture, and CMC BC.

Sean is BC Director of the Canadian Music Centre, a Sessional Instructor at Capilano University's School of Performing Arts, and Past Chair of the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture. He is grateful to work on unceded Coast Salish Territory in Vancouver, BC, where he lives with his husband, Tom. His pronouns are he/him/his.
